The Brief

BAWA is a Bristol-based not-for-profit organisation offering healthcare and leisure services to its growing membership, most of whom are employees of leading-edge companies such Rolls-Royce Plc, Airbus UK, BAE Systems, North Bristol NHS Trust and John Lewis Partnership.
Re:light was commissioned to design the lighting for their brand new health and leisure centre that also serves as a function and conference venue. The lighting needed to reflect the high quality and forward-thinking design values of the prestigious companies that its members work for.

The Site

As with many of Re:light’s projects the site was multi-functional, with not only conference and meeting rooms but also a large ballroom. The space and lighting needed to work for business functions as well as weddings and other private parties.
Our design had to be highly adaptable to the changing function of the space as well as the time of day the space is used. It also needed to marry with the daring teal and gold colour scheme that interior architects Wylde used throughout the site.
